I used to try and teach ants how to swim, although I was never successful. I also used to enjoy focusing sun light on straw in order to burn it, and I think that in reality that would have been my first ever experiment.

My first experiment I remember was with cabbage water; and using the water from boiled red cabbage to test whether things were acidic or alkali (the opposite of acid) – the purple cabbage water went red with vinegar, and then yellow when adding cleaners!

I guess I got started early on ‘colour’ 🙂

My earliest memory of doing experiments was making a volcano with my older sister. We made a volcano using cardboard and papier-mâché and filled it with vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and a LOT of red food dye! Needless to say it went everywhere and my mum wasn’t very impressed with the newly dyed curtains!
