I have made a molecule that we don’t think has been found before. I haven’t confirmed it with every technique available yet and we haven’t published it so I can’t really say anything about it, but it will be pretty exciting once I’ve done all of that!

A few years ago I was working on a drug delivery system that could target specific cells. It was really interesting especially since I had developed the capsule itself, and hopefully it will one day be used in medicine since it has a number of cell recognition sites.

I’m not sure… (I don’t meant that to say “I’ve made loads of discoveries”, I mean it to say “i’m not sure my discoveries are that great!”)

I think when I realised the way in which electrons hop around in DNA was a pretty special thing. I remember sitting there, completely lost to the world as I was analysing my data, and suddenly there it was; a straight line that explained how the electrons were moving. I jumped out of my seat to go and tell someone, but as I went onto the corridor I noticed all the doors were closed, and it was dark outside (optics labs don’t have any windows). Turned out it was after midnight and every *sensible* person had gone home for the day!
