• Question: So, you make plastic out of certain fruit peels. I know you make it with the citric acid, breaking bonds and some more awesome sciency stuff, so, my question is: Once you've made this fruity plastic, does it decompose as the fruit peels would do, in a relatively small amount of time, or does it take as long as plastic from other sources that aren't organic?

Great question cyanogen_! At the moment, they don’t break down very quickly, but that is something we are working towards achieving. Because my method makes the same plastic that is made from oil, it has the same properties, which is great for swapping out the old stuff, but not so great for decomposing!
There are other methods of making bio-plastics that do decompose easier and the scientists working on them are just trying to make sure they can be made on a large scale (several tons a day!) So hopefully soon you will start to see them appearing!
