Well actually I can’t hear “Let It Go” without singing “Chemists Know” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iM_I6rtIgn0) although I do not condone the lack of lab specs worn! If they are in a lab they should definitely have some eye protection on!!!!
Tom Lehrer’s “Periodic Table Song” is one that springs to mind… But that’s a bit obvious!
There is another one that is considerably more obscure – and those reading my responses will know I’m a bit of a Queen fan! – but the song ” ’39 ” which features on their “A Night at the Opera” album is all about Einstein’s theory of relativity and the twin paradox (We shouldn’t be surprised; Brian May – who wrote and sang the song – is, after all, a physicist!)
It tells the story of an earth in the future, humanity looking for a new home, so send a group of travellers into space to travel at near-light speed to a new planet. They visit the planet, and come home to report back, but because of the effect of Relativity, while they spent a year travelling (in their experience), they come back to Earth to find that 100 years have passed.
A beautiful song, with a chorus you can easily sing along to.
Well, this might sound strange, but any Disney song reminds me of the office I used to work in during my Masters, and therefore reminds me about science.
This is due to the fact that one of my friends used to play Disney songs all the time, so now I cannot listen to them without thinking about science, in particular chemistry!
