• Question: If you had 1 million pound how would you change science?

      1 million pounds actually isn’t a lot of money in science, our new ultrafast laser and some of the equipment we needed to make it run (you need special ‘floating’ tables for lasers, good air con etc.) cost 2 million pounds! Science is very expensive.

      If I could spend it on my research, I think I’d probably invest in an ultrafast gas phase experiment so we could do femtosecond spectroscopy not just on liquids, but in gases as well.
