I really don’t know the answer to this one – I think we’ve got it pretty good in this time period. My answer might be different depending on the question of whether I travel back to stay, or if i’m just visiting.
To live, I’d probably like to be in the 1970s – enough science going on to stimulate me, plus good life standards (broadly speaking!)
To visit: I think I’d probably visit the Solvay conference in 1927. Look at the group photo:
How many do you recognise? Possibly one or two – but then look at the names! Debye, Dirac, Einstein, Curie, Compton, Langmuir, Planck, Lorentz, Pauli, Heisenberg…. How could you *not* want to be there!

I guess I’d really like to do is go back to The Dawn of Time, and watch a timelapse of our world forming right up to the present day, watching how our landscape changes, evolves… that would be amazing!

I love hand to hand combat, so I would say middle ages. I would love to use my mind, the way I think to try and take control of a village, and maybe start some revolts and take control of a number of villages building my kingdom.

It would def help if I can use knowledge from the future, but I would not necessarily need that. If I have my own way of thinking that would have been enough.

I’d go back to the 70s! There was such awesome music and I would love to rock a pair of purple corduroy flares! Also, then I could make my way to the USA and work with Paul Anastas (my chemistry hero) in his lead up to making the rules for Green Chemistry! Who knows, I might even have gotten a mention in them!!
