      I suspect they’re definitely mine!

Laser technology is developing and improving all the time – we’ve seen the first attosecond lasers and experiments being made and produced (they make femtosecond lasers look slow) and the technology for femtosecond lasers still has lots of improvements too. Free electron lasers are also being more widely built which will help us further explore deeper the core electrons in atoms.

People are also being increasingly creative on the types of experiments they are doing with lasers, combining techinques like mass spec with them and building multi dimensional IR experiments (if you want a headache try and understand how they work.) I think they’ve got an important place in the future of science.
