It was weird as I hardly knew anyone in my course, and therefore it was a new experience, from being the popular guy in my sixth form to being alone in University lecture hall. It did not last long, and I easily made friends, people who I still meet up to this day.

I loved it! It was so exciting! I met my best friend (still after 7 years!) and we had a film night to settle into the place. The second day was more scary because I walked around campus and saw how huge it was! It didn’t take long to make a big group of friends though and before I knew it we were all sat around telling each other every bit of our lives so far!

My first day at university was really quite chaotic. I moved into halls on the Saturday, and felt quite glum after waving my parents off. I then decided to just get stuck in and meet people, playing board games and so on.

When I actually got to the university on Monday morning though, everything was really hectic. I had to queue to register (about an hour), then to queue to get my ID card photo taken (30 minutes). I then had to queue for various ID cards I needed to get student priced transport, student union membership… That’s really all I remember!
Now of course the queues are gone (largely) – all registration is now done online, and cards are delivered to the hall of residence ready for you to collect!
