As far as I’m aware, there aren’t any specific qualifications you would need (though I could well be wrong!) but I think if you’re looking for the likes of Nessie, Bigfoot (who is my favourite cryptid after watching Harry and the Hendersons a lot as a child) and a Yeti, studying Biology wouldn’t hurt! And if you did want to do a degree, I’d suggest something like Zoology. That would help you eliminate animals that have been found already when you find footprints in forests!
It’s often quite easy to change direction in science, so if you did a biology undergraduate degree, you could do a more specialised masters is something closer to what you wanted to study or even a PhD. As for cryptozoology though, sounds like a good imagination is mostly what’s needed!
Anybody can be a cryptzoologist, you probably should invest time into geographical, biological and historical research. For field investigations you should take a photography course, survival skills, tracking and animal calls.
That is true but you also need to do alot of research into the zones of differant view points from people and what it is you are studying. I.E. mermaids and other things like that.

You’d also probably want to do a photography course to get some good photos of them when you find them!
