The femtosecond work I do wouldn’t really have been possible a few years ago as there weren’t many femtosecond laser systems around and we certainly didn’t have our own laser.
Computational chemistry is also constantly improving, with faster computers, more efficient codes and the calculations are accurate to a degree that I’m not sure we could have hoped for a few years ago.
There’s definitely constant progress being made, both in terms of the technology available and our understanding of the systems we’re looking at but there’s always more to be done!

I’ve always been in science, even my work during university was working as a research assistant. Hopefully I’ll stay doing science too.
